Several months ago there was an article in our newsletter about two of our Members, who served in France in same area at about same time. Since they did not know each other at that time there was never a search for one by the other, and they did not know about this situation until they accidentally learned about it at one of our Legion Meetings.

Once again these two men had planned a trip to the WW II MEMORIAL, by different ways, and this time did discuss getting together, if possible. However, this did not come about because of the weather and the many other WW II VETERANS, who were also there, even though they were both there at the same time. ED KINNEN, who served with the 66th Infantry Division in France, went with the Rochester Honor Flight of 50 Veterans and 50 Guardians, while BILL COOPER, who served with the 94th Infantry Division in France, also, went with his WIFE, Margaret, thanks to Birthday and Christmas gift from their Son, JIM. If any of you WW II Veterans get an opportunity to visit this "JEWEL OF THE MALL", as labeled by STEPHEN R. BROWN, in his book about this Memorial, DO IT,anyway possible. Both Ed and Bill highly recommend the visit, and the rain won't be a problem, no matter how hard it comes down.

WE SALUTE VINCENT W. HOPE, PRESIDENT, HONOR FLIGHT ROCHESTER, and all of his Associates and Guardians , who make these flights possible.

Honoring American Veterans

Rochester, New York is one of 75 established 'hubs' in the national Honor Flight Network. We are not-for-profit, and created to honor America’s veterans for their sacrifices.

"We fly our heroes to Washington, DC to visit
and reflect together at their memorials."

The mission of Honor Flight is more than timely; it is urgent!
Across our country we lose more than 1,200 World War II Veterans per day!  The average age of those waiting to go is 86.

FOLLOWING PICTURES (part of 135 given to each Veteran) TAKEN BY JEANNINE FRASER and OK'd to put on our Web Site by Vince Hope.
