BLUE STAR BANNER PRESENTATONS IN 2010

On Thursday April 15th, Commander Bill Rahn from Pittsford’s Rayson-Miller American Legion Post 899 presented Blue Star Banners at the Women’s Club of Pittsford meeting. The recipients were Judith M. White and Helena M. Krebs, who both have sons now serving in the Armed Forces.

Andrew White is a 1st Class Avionics Technician who has served 8 years in the United States Navy and is currently stationed in Willow Grove, Pa.

Kevin Krebs is a Colonel is the United States Air Force and has served for 25 years. Kevin is a 1980 graduate of Pittsford Sutherland High School and a 1985 graduate of OTS. Currently Kevin is Reserve Advisor to the 18th Air Force Commander at Scott Air Force Base. He is also a Senior Command Pilot. During the Gulf War he flew the C141 Starlifter and the C17 Globe Master bringing in ammunition, bombs, and supplies in and the wounded out. Since 1990 Kevin has flown in many other contingency and humanitarian relief efforts.

The members of Rayson-Miller and the Pittsford Community are proud of Andrew and Kevin. These Blue Star Banners are given to their families to be displayed in the windows of their homes to let those who pass by know of the sacrifice their loved ones are making for all of us.

The Rayson-Miller American Legion once again invites all Pittsford residents who have sons or daughters serving to contact us if they’d like to be presented with a Blue Star Banner. Mitchell Pierson Realtors is underwriting the cost of the Blue Star Banners the Rayson-Miller American Legion presents to the residents of Pittsford. Please mail all requests for banners to the Rayson-Miller American Legion, 21 N. Main Street, Pittsford, NY 14534.

On Thursday, January 14th at the Women’s Club of Pittsford meeting, Commander Bill Rahn presented Blue Star Banners from Rayson-Miller American Legion Post 899 to Mrs. Howard Campbell and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schoenberger.
 

Richard Howard Campbell, son of Janet Campbell and the late Howard Campbell, is a Technical Sergeant serving with the United States Air Force Reserve and is awaiting deployment. Richard has been in the reserves for 18 years and is an alumnus of Oswego State College.
 

Brian Moore is the son of Nancy and Robert Schoenberger. Brian is a Major in the United States Army and a West Point graduate. He is currently serving in Iraq training Iraqi security forces.

BLUE STAR BANNER PRESENTATONS IN 2009

This evening I presented a Blue Star Banner from Rayson-Miller to the parents of Senior Airman Michael P. Haid. Paul and Linda Haid said their son will soon be deployed to the Mideast. Michael is a 1999 graduate of Pittsford Mendon High School and a 2004 graduate of Clemson University. Michael's parents very much appreciated receiving the Blue Star Banner, thanked Rayson-Miller American Legion, and will proudly display it.
